The study of the method for determination of cyanide in water by flow injection analysis

  • Objective To establish a method for determination of cyanide in water by flow injection analysis(FIA).Methods Cyanide in water was detected by FIA,and the best experimental conditions were chosen.Results Under the best conditions, the linear range was 2.0-200.0 μg/L, and the detection limit of the method was 0.39 μg/L, with the relative standard deviations (RSD) of the determination of standard solution being 0.74%-3.19%. For analysis of water, this method obtained the satisfactory result, and the average recovery was 95.8%-106.1%. As compared with national standard methods as isonicotinic acid-barbituric acid spectrophotometry, flow injection analysis showed no significant difference in determination.Conclusion This method is sensitive and suitable for the determination of cyanide in water.
