Abstract:
ObjectiveTo compare the consistency between the results of mosq-ovitrap and human landing catch in the same environment for Aedes albopictus L.(A.albopictus) mosquitoes surveillance.
MethodsIn every mid-month from May to October in 2018, the density of A.albopictus in 4 villages of Chongming, Shanghai was investigated by mosq-ovitrap.Human landing catch was used to monitor the density on the fourth day of laying Mosq-ovitrap (the day of recovering mosq-ovitrap) and on the fourteenth day of laying Mosq-ovitrap.
ResultsBy pearson correlation analysis, correlation coefficient of Mosq-ovitrap Index and human landing catch index (The fourth day of laying Mosq-ovitrap) was 0.908(P < 0.05); correlation coefficient of Mosq-ovitrap Index and human landing catch index (the fourteenth day of laying Mosq-ovitrap) was 0.981(P < 0.05).
ConclusionThe Mosq-ovitrap can replace the human landing catch during the low density of A.albopictus.The mosquito trap method can reflect the density of A.albopictus mosquitoes on the day of monitoring and 10 days after.
