Abstract:
Objective To exoplore the relationship of genetic polymorphisms of ADH2, ALDH2 and alcohol drinking with stomach cancer.
Methods A total of 201 cases of stomach cancer and controls were included in the study blood samples were tested for ADH2, ALDH2 genotypes by PCR-DHPLC method.
Results Compared to those with ADH2 A/A or ALDH2 G/G genotype, the individuals with other genotypes were not at a higher risk of developing stomach cancer.Drinkers with any genotype, and even with their cumulative amount of alcohol consumption ≥ 1.5 (kg/year), were not at a significantly higher risk of developing stomach cancer.
Conclusion Genetic Polymorphisms Of ADH2, ALDH2 are not related to the development of stomach cancer.
