Analysis on the incidence trend of acute viral hepatitis in Hongkou District of Shanghai from 1956 to 2015

  • ObjectiveTo analyze the incidence trend of acute viral hepatitis in Hongkou District of Shanghai from 1956 to 2015.
    MethodsTo analyze the incidence data of acute viral hepatitis thereof from 1956 to 2015 using the method of descriptive epidemiology.
    ResultsThe incidence rate of hepatitis declined in a fluctuating way in Hongkou District of Shanghai from 1956 to 2015. Along with the improvement of the etiological detection technology for hepatitis, the proportion of unclassified hepatitis was slowly on the decline. Among all types of hepatitis, Hepatitis B occupied the largest percentage, and Hepatitis E occupied the second largest percentage. The patients with acute viral hepatitis mainly consisted of adults aging from 20 to 49, and they were mainly composed of workers, cadres and clerks, retirees in terms of occupational distribution.
    ConclusionThe control and prevention of hepatitis in Hongkou District of Shanghai has achieved remarkable results in the past years, and the incidence of acute viral hepatitis has decreased greatly. However, the hepatitis control and prevention will remain to be the focus for the control and prevention of infectious diseases.
