Tuberculosis epidemic analysis on household registered population in 2012-2016 in Jing′an District of Shanghai

  • ObjectiveTo analyze characteristics and epidemic characteristics of tuberculosis in household registered population from 2012 to 2016 in Jing′an District of Shanghai, so as to provide basis for further control of the incidence of turbulosis and effective management of tuberculosis patients.
    MethodsDescriptive analysis was done on the TB case registration data from the 2012-2016 TB management information system, and SPSS 17.0 statistical software used to analyze data.
    ResultsThe annual incidence of TB in Jing′an District in 2012-2016 was 25.87/105.The overall incidence of the disease showed a downward trend.Men and women in these cases were 2.60:1.The age composition of the disease was mainly middle-aged and elderly.Among them the age of 40 and over the incidence rate was 31.13/105, accounting for 76.00% of the total cases.Among them 70 years old and above group had the highest incidence (37.49/105).The occupational distribution was dominated by retirees, accounting for 48.49%.All 14 streets in the area had reported cases, with the incidence rate of the street in Linfen road being the highest, which was 36.82/105.Case reports were reported each month, and there was no obvious seasonal or cyclical distribution.
    ConclusionIn 2012-2016, the incidence of TB is on the decline, but still a big distance from the termination of TB, so we should further strengthen prevention and control of tuberculosis, especially in the elderly population.
