Mortality trend analysis on cervical carcinoma in Yangpu District of Shanghai during 1974-2015

  • ObjectiveTo analyze the mortality of cervical carcinoma among female population in Yangpu District of Shanghai from 1974 to 2015.
    MethodsThe clinical data on cervical carcinoma from 1974 to 2015 were sorted out from the death registration system in Yangpu District.The Joinpoint Regression Program and age-period-cohort(APC) model were used for data analyses.The mortality was standardized by utilizing the Segi standard population age composition.
    ResultsA total of 476 deaths of cervical carcinoma were reported in Yangpu District from 1974 to 2015.The crude mortality rate of cervical carcinoma was 2.34/100000.The standardized mortality rate of cervical carcinoma was 1.33/100000.Cervical cancer had a higher mortality rate in women aged 60 and older, which accounted for 69.75%.
    ConclusionThe mortality of cervical carcinoma increases in Yangpu District on a yearly basis from 1996 to 2015.With cervical carcinoma, the women over 60 are high-risk groups.
