Development of automatic extensible decontaminating and cleansing platform for the nuclear accident wounded

  • ObjectiveTo develop a decontaminating and washing platform that can be quickly set up in case of nuclear accident with high degree of automation.
MethodsThrough literature search and field investigation the actual needs for decontamination of the nuclear accident wounded were explored, and then improved the details of vehicle design by using modules, listening to expert opinions.
ResultsThe developed washing platform, which used electric thread push rod structure to expand the square cabin, could be simultaneously carried out to do in-cabin washing for the seriously injured (1 person/h, ≤5 person/d) and the ambulatory wounded (4 person/h, ≤20 person/d).To meet the needs of emergency health response teams for emergency radiation and chemical poisoning incidents, we respectively carried out module design for loading platform, communication monitoring and comprehensive support and vehicle appearance design.
ConclusionThe decontaminating and cleansing platform can start emergency response in a short time, and be quickly used to decontaminate the wounded who were exposed to radiation as well as chemical pollution. Therefore, this platform reduces casualties and prevents the spread of pollution.
