Advances in research of correlationship between gut microbiota and its metabolite TMAO and coronary artery disease

  • Gut microbiota and its metabolites are closely related to the occurrence and development of coronary artery disease (CAD), and the association between TMAO(trimethy lamine-N-oxide) and CAD has been confirmed by multiple cohort studies. The prevention and treatment of CAD by regulating gut microbiota and its metabolites has become a research hot spot. This article mainly reviews the characteristics of gut microbiota and its metabolites and the research progress on the relationship between intestinal flora and coronary artery disease.
