Discussion on improving maritime rescue ability of emergency medical teams

  • China International Emergency Medical Team (Shanghai) is an international emergency medical team certified by the World Health Organization and consists of professional medical personnel and logistics staff.In May 2016, the Team passed the certification of the World Health Organization expert group and officially became the world′s first one passed of this kind.Maritime medical care is an important task of China International Emergency Medical Team (Shanghai) and an important rescue force when a maritime disaster occurs.On the basis of reviewing the serious loss of the international shipwreck incident, this paper summarizes the current situation of the emergency medical rescue work in China in recent years, providing reference for the scientific treatment of the mass casualties in shipwreck and improvement of the emergency rescue level of shipwreck medicine.Only by fully recognizing the arduous task of the rescue mission at sea, understanding the possible unexpected maritime disaster, and so making corresponding plans, can we expect to improve the emergency medical rescue capability at sea.
