Intervention effect of new media on treatment compliance of AIDS patients

  • ObjectiveTo explore the role of applying new media in the management of AIDS patients in maintaining drug compliance, virus inhibition and antiviral treatment cohort retention.
MethodsA series of 46 AIDS patients from a community health service center in December 2017 were selected for basic routine management, of whom 23 were randomly selected as experimental group to receive new media follow-up management and the other 23 as control group. After one year of follow-up management, drug compliance, virus inhibition rate and cohort maintenance rate were analyzed between the two groups.
ResultsThe good compliance rate, virus inhibition rate and cohort retention rate of the experimental group were significantly higher than those of the control group, and the difference between them was statistically significant(P < 0.05).
ConclusionThe application of new media in follow-up management of AIDS patients can improve the patients' compliance with treatment, the rate of virus inhibition and the retention rate of antiviral treatment cohort.
