Research advances of the correlation between gut microbiota and ischemic stroke

With the deepening of studies on the "bacteria-gut-brain" axis, the correlation between ischemic stroke and gut microbiota is attracting great attention from researchers.Based on the "bacteria-gut-brain" axis, this paper expounds the possible mechanism of gut microbiota on the occurrence and development of ischemic stroke.Besides, focusing on clinical studies, this review elaborates the gut microbiota and metabolites SCFAs and TMAO of patients with ischemic stroke, which is important for future microecological clinical intervention and individualized microflora transplantation for stroke prevention and prognosis improvement.
