Uncertainty anaysis on determination of tetrahydrofuran in workplace air by gas chromatography

  • Objective To evaluate uncertainty for determination of tetrahydrofuran in workplace air by Gas Chromatography(GC), identify the key factors in the determination process and ensure the accuracy and reliability of laboratory data. Methods The major source of uncertainty was identified by uncertainty analysis. Results The extended uncertainty for determination of tetrahydrofuran was 5.4 mg/m3 (k=2). Conclusion Sampling volume, dilution of standards, standard curve, and replicates are key factors for assuring reliability in the determination of tetrahydrofuran by GC.
