Epidemic features analysis on class A and B infectious diseases in Yiwu City, 2006-2010

  • Objective To analyze the epidemic features of class A and B infectious diseases in Yiwu City from 2006 to 2010 and raise proposals to adjust the focus of the work of prevention and control on infectious diseases and related recommendations. Methods The descriptive epidemiological method was used to analyze the reported incidence data on class A and B infectious diseases in Yiwu City, 2006-2010. Results A total of 24 575 cases of 20 class A and B infectious diseases were reported in Yiwu City from 2006 to 2010 with the average incidence rate of 263.00/105. The annual incidence rates were 297.75/105, 248.31/105, 253.46/105, 262.12/105 and 254.78/105, respectively. The incidence of intestinal and respiratory diseases was significantly decreased, while the incidence of blood borne/sexually transmitted disease was increased. Conclusion In the past 5 years, the overall incidence of class A and B infectious diseases has been stable in Yiwu City. The focus of control and prevention work in future should be on floating population and international travelers.
