Application of Veriflow on detection of Listeria monocytogenes in food

  • ObjectiveTo explore the application of fast detection of Listeria monocytogenes in food.
MethodsAfter comparison the performance of Veriflow method with Chinese National Standard (GB) method in detecting Listeria monocytogenes, the 7 samples, 3 from food productions and 4 from surface of food packages were analyzed.
ResultsThere is no significant difference between the Veriflow and GB method.Among specificity test, the Veriflow got 100 percent in terms of inclusivity and exclusivity. This method had a testing period of 26 hours, less than the GB method′s 6 days, which means a more effective improvement so then.
ConclusionVeriflow is a sensitive, selective, and fast method for the detection of L.monocytogenes sampled from environmental and food matrixes, with a bright future for further application accordingly.
