Research status and reflection on prevention and treatment of Sarcopenia

The mechanism, influencing factors, diagnosis, screening and treatment of Sarcopenia are reviewed in this article.On the basis of previous studies on specificity of screening and diagnostic criteria for Sarcopenia and the prevalence of senile Sarcopenia in Asians, suggestions are made in research of Sarcopenia in China.Firstly, the basic research on the diagnostic criteria and influencing factors of Sarcopenia should be carried out.Secondly, comprehensive intervention study on Sarcopenia should be performed.Finally, the evaluation and intervention study of Sarcopenia should be conducted on focus population with prevention as primary.
