Influencing factors of expanded HIV testing strategy from supply-demand perspective

  • ObjectiveTo explore the influencing factors of strategy of expanded HIV testing on both sides of supply and demand, so as to provide evidence for improving the current strategy of expanded HIV testing and improving the testing rate of HIV.
    MethodsHIV patients, HIV high-risk groups, HIV testing providers, agencies and department heads were selected as the interviewees.Through focus group interviews and individual in-depth interviews were collected related data and information.Nvivo 8.0 was used to analyze the influencing factors.
    ResultsThe factors affecting the demander were found to be social discrimination, low awareness of secrecy policy, and delayed HIV related knowledge publicity, etc. The factors affecting providers were insufficient input of resources, lack of cooperation among testing departments, inadequate privacy protection and insufficient publicity, etc.
    ConclusionIt is suggested to improve the mechanism of resource input and allocation, pay attention to the construction of detection efficiency mechanism, mobilize social participation, and innovate HIV detection technology.
