Family planning technical services, as part of indispensable health services, have been playing important roles in meeting reproductive health needs of fertile-aged population.In recent 30 years, continuous innovation has been made in Shanghai in aspects of expanding technical services, deepening service quality monitoring, strengthening service effectiveness assessment and others, which played a leading role in the national family planning technical services; as the time went on, the status quo of the services has changed in service content, object and quality.Under the new situation of the fertility policy continuing to be improved, family planning work needs to be transformed, deepened and optimized.Both service providers and administrators need to re-think of the connotation of the family planning work and actively respond to the challenges, so as to meet the national demand for contraception and birth control.
