Advances in research of correlationship between gut microbiota and its metabolite TMAO and coronary artery disease

Gut microbiota and its metabolites are closely related to the occurrence and development of coronary artery disease (CAD), and the association between TMAO(trimethy lamine-N-oxide) and CAD has been confirmed by multiple cohort studies.The prevention and treatment of CAD by regulating gut microbiota and its metabolites has become a research hot spot.This article mainly reviews the characteristics of gut microbiota and its metabolites and the research progress on the relationship between intestinal flora and coronary artery disease.
