Influencing factors on the quality of life of postpartum women within 6 months after delivery in Pudong New Area in Shanghai China

  • Objective To analyse the primary influencing factors on quality of life of postpartum women within 6 months after delivery in Pudong New Area in Shanghai.Methods The SF-36 has been used in this study to analyse the influencing factors on quality of life of postpartum women. Univariate analysis of variance was first used to select the relative influencing factors of quality of life among 15 sociodemographic factors and 17 medical factors. Multivariate stepwise regression was then applied using the SF-36 subscales as the dependent variables.Results The primary influencing factors of quality of life of postpartum women were found to include the length of time after delivery, lack of social support, poor marital relation and so on. These factors affected different subscales of SF-36.Conclusion Of the many demographic and medical characteristics we examined, the length of time after delivery was closely associated with the quality of life of postpartum women. There is much work to be done for improvement of the quality of life of postpartum women.
