Effect of triazophos on the neurobehavior in rats

  • Objective To evaluate the effect of Triazophos on the neurobehavior in rats. Methods A total of 40 Spague Dawley rats weighed 60~80 g, male and female each half, were randomly divided into 4 groups of control, low, middle and high dosage of 0, 25, 100, 400 mg/kg. After 16-week feeding, the rats were tested in Morris water maze for their neurobehavior. Results In the acquisition training, the results showed that the escape latency of male rats in middle and high dosage groups were longer than those in control group(P<0.05),while the female rats did not show this effect on them. In prob trial, average movement speed in female rats of three groups were significantly different from that in those of control group(P<0.05); activity time in target quadrant and peripheral zone of platform were significantly lower in the three dosage groups than that in control group with both male and female rats(P<0.05). Conclusion The result shows Triazophos exposure can decrease the neurobehavior in rats.
