Investigation on the quality of life and its influential factors of the residents in certain community of Shanghai city

Objective To study the status of the quality of life of the people in certain community, and investigate its influential factors, especially people with chronic diseases. Methods 1 201 people in the community were investigated by questionnaires, and SF - 36 was used to survey their quality of life. Results The prevalence rate of chronic diseases in the community were 54.6%, the quality of life of people with chronic disease was lower than that of general people. The main factors that influenced the quality of life were age, marriage status, eco- nomic status, quality of sleep, and so on. Conclusion Chronic diseases decrease the quality of life. Comprehensive measures should be taken to improve the quality of life of the people with chronic diseases in the community.
