Investigation on nutritional status of people with impaired glucose regulation in certain community of Huangpu district Shanghai

  • Objective To investigate the nutritional status of people with impaired glucose regulation in certain community. Methods Using 24 hour dietary recall method to investigate the the nutritional status of 174 people with impaired glucose regulation in certain community. Results People with impaired glucose regulation took in more calories (about 114.71% of the recommended standard ), fat for energy ratio was 40.36%, carbohydrate for energy ratio was 44.27%,protein for energy ratio was 15.32%. The intake of dietary fiber and some nutrients such as Ca,P, Vitamin A, Vitamin B and Vitamin C were all lower than their respective reference standards. Conclusion The nutritional status of people with impaired glucose regulation is unreasonable, nutritional education should be enforced.
