Analysis of proficiency testing results for gross alpha and beta radioactivity measurement of radiological laboratories in Shanghai in 2023 and 2024

    目的 检验上海市放射卫生技术服务机构实验室的水中总α和总β放射性测量能力。
    方法 组织上海市所有具有总α和总β放射性测量业务范围的放射卫生技术服务机构实验室(后称:参比实验室)开展总α和总β放射性测量能力考核。各参比实验室根据GB/T 5750.13—2023《生活饮用水标准检验方法第13部分:放射性指标》中规定的厚源法,对比对水样进行总α和总β放射性活度浓度测量。依据GB/T 28043—2019《利用实验室间比对进行能力验证的统计方法》,对各参比实验室的测量结果进行计算,2023—2024年的比对结果通过z比分数进行统一评判,即总α和总β分析结果均|z|≤2.00为合格,总α和总β分析结果均|z|≤0.50且综合评分与Q值之和≥95分的为优秀。
    结果 2023年参加省级比对的参比实验室为15家,合格率为86.67%,无优秀;2024年参加比对的参比实验室为19家,合格率为100%,优秀率为21.05%。
    结论 2024年比对合格率和优秀率较2023年明显提升,表明各参比实验室的水中总α和总β放射性测量能力得到有效增强。通过提高各技术服务机构实验室检测能力,为日后应对可能出现的突发公共卫生事件做好准备。

     

    Abstract:
    Objective To evaluate the measurement capability of laboratories of radiological health technical service institutions in Shanghai for determining gross alpha and gross beta radioactivity in water.
    Methods All local laboratories with operational scope covering gross alpha and gross beta radioactivity measurement (hereinafter referred to as "participating laboratories") were organized to undertake a proficiency test. Each participating laboratory measured the gross α and gross β radioactivity concentrations in the proficiency testing water samples using the thick source method specified in GB/T 5750.13‒2023 Standard Examination Methods for Drinking Water—Part 13: Radioactive Indicators. Based on GB/T 28043‒2019 Statistical Methods for Proficiency Testing Using Interlaboratory Comparisons, the measurement results of all participating laboratories were statistically evaluated. The inter-laboratory comparison results for 2023‒2024 were uniformly assessed using z-scores: laboratories with |z| ≤2.00 for both gross α and gross β were rated as satisfactory (pass), and those with |z| ≤0.50 for both gross α and gross β and with the sum of the comprehensive score and the Q value ≥95 points were rated as excellent.
    Results In 2023, 15 laboratories participated in the provincial inter-laboratory comparison, with a pass rate of 86.67% and none rated as excellent. In 2024, 19 laboratories participated, with a pass rate of 100% and 21.05% rated as excellent.
    Conclusion Compared with 2023, both the pass rate and the excellence rate in 2024 improved significantly, indicating that the measurement capability of the participating laboratories for gross alpha and gross beta radioactivity in water has been effectively enhanced. Improving the testing capabilities of laboratories in technical service institutions strengthens preparedness for future public health emergencies.
