Abstract: The purpose of epidemiology teaching is not only to impart theoretical knowledge, but also to cultivate the scientific practical ability of students, promoting their understanding of macroscopic data, and forming a think model of overall analysis.The important contents of epidemiology teaching reform include following aspects:strengthening the relationship with current issues of public health care, encouraging participation in practice, and establishing an online interactive teaching platform.The prevalence of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and related research are important examples of epidemiology teaching. The awareness rate of HIV-related knowledge is relatively high in the population with high education, but as the rate of new HIV infection among college students in China has significantly increased in recent years, the current strategy of HIV prevention and control is still insufficient.Young population is not aware of the importance of the HIV epidemic in high school and the relevant measures of prevention.They are strange to the policy of HIV prevention and control.The method for education, monitoring, and research of HIV epidemic in college students should be improved.The targeted population of epidemiology teaching and HIV control in college are overlapping.There are many intersections of the content and reform direction for epidemiology teaching and HIV control in college.Platforms of teaching and work can have mutual assistance and mutual transformation.Promoting epidemiology teaching reform is of great significance for the prevention and control of HIV infection in college.
