Abstract:
ObjectiveThe characteristics of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) were analyzed in 12 cases, including time of negative conversion of SARS-CoV-2 RNA and risk factors associated with testing re-positive for SARS-CoV-2 RNA after the discharge.
MethodsA total of 12 patients with COVID-19 in Panjin were collected.Clinical features, laboratory testing, and imaging examination of the patients were retrospectively studied. Moreover, the correlation between the time of negative conversion of SARS-CoV-2 RNA and testing re-positive after the discharge were determined.
ResultsThe clinical symptoms of 12 COVID-19 cases were mainly fever (9/12) and respiratory symptoms (8/12).In addition, there was lymphocyte reduction in 4 cases, imaging diagnosis of pneumonia in 11 cases, and 2 cases testing re-positive for SARS-CoV-2 RNA in the nasal pharyngeal/anal swab within 1 week of discharge. The time of negative conversion in the cases was 8-53 days, and the median time was 24.5 days.Imaging demonstrating the pneumonia, the case coming from the hospital visit, and testing re-positive for SARS-CoV-2 RNA were the risk factors.
ConclusionPrognosis and its risk factors vary in the influencing factors of COVID-19 cases. It warrants more attention to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
