Abstract: Objective To investigate the prevalence of eye disease among type 2 diabetic patients in the community of Huangpu District and to analyze the related factors in this regard. Methods A total of 516 patients with T2DM were selected by systematic sampling from diabetic management system of Huangpu District community. The data on patients' chronic complications was obtained through the questionnaire designed by ourselves. Results The prevalence of eye disease in T2DM was 28.10%, and multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that age, diet control, blood pressure control, gender and disease course might be related to eye diseases with the OR value of 2.47,0.583,1.60,1.58 and 1.24(P<0.05). Conclusion The prevalence of eye disease in T2DM is high. Age, diet control, blood pressure control, gender and disease course might be associated with eye diseases.
